Kaduna State Governor, Mallam Nasir El Rufai has welcomed a detachment of Nigerian Army Women Corps to the state.
The Governor as well as his deputy, Hadiza Balarabe welcomed the gallant female troops in a brief ceremony which was also attended by the General Officer Commanding (GOC(, 1 Division, Nigerian Army Major-General U.S Mohammed.
The Nigerian Army Women Corps having undergone special forces training will be deployed to provide ground support for military operations along the Kaduna-Abuja route.
The Kaduna-Abuja expressway is one of the hideouts of armed bandits, kidnappers and other criminal elements in the region.
The GOC went ahead to thank Governor El-Rufai and his deputy for welcoming the Nigerian Army Woman Corps to the state.
The Governor also commended the military for its relentless efforts in ensuring peace in the state as he promised the state’s unwavering support for them.
