The Super Eagles of Nigeria defeated the Carthage Eagles of Tunisia 1-0 at the Al-Salam Stadium to finish third at this year’s African Cup of Nations in Egypt (AFCON2019) . The victory over Tunisia is Super Eagles’ eighth bronze medal in the history of the Africa Cup of Nations. However, many expected that the Gernot Rohr led team to win the tournament due the to the level of preparation and gulf of talent in the team. According to the President of the NFF, Gernot Rohr has been assured that his job is safe after reaching the semi-final target set for him.
