A 20-year-old woman, from western Australia, has gone viral on TikTok after sharing her shock at her American boyfriend for wearing socks with no shoes while at the beach.
‘My American boyfriend committed an Australian crime today,’ the woman wrote in the clip which has amassed more than 202,900 views
Hundreds took to the comments to express their shock at the uncommon beach practice with one calling it ‘100 per cent unforgiveable’.
‘Immediate ban from the beach for 12 months,’ one joked while another laughed: ‘Gotta throw the whole boyfriend away now.
‘I think you need a BF refund, sorry but who wear socks to a BEACH EVER? In the history of going to beaches, when did sock wearing become a thing?’ a third asked.
‘That sand better be scorching hot. Otherwise, there’s no excuse for that behaviour,’ said a fourth.
Others however defended the American, saying socks can prevent beachgoers from burning their feet on the sand.
‘So you don’t burn your feet on the sand as that’s the only reason I can think of as in Qld my feet were blistered from the sand being hot,’ one user suggested.
‘Either the sand is too hot or he hates sand between his toes,’ said a second.
‘I don’t give damn what you Aussies think, I’ll always wear my socks on the beach,’ one American admitted.
