BBC Breakfast went off air on Saturday morning after an alarm sounded through the studio, forcing the presenters to evacuate. 

Hosts Roger Johnson and Rachel Burden’s interview with The Apprentice winner, Harpreet Kaur came to an abrupt end as they were interrupted by the alarm. 

Fans were quick to slam the presenters who appeared to be ‘confused’ by the noise as they vacantly looked around the studio and apologised to their guest.

The sound blared through the studio as ‘attention, attention, please evacuate,’ could be heard over the show, whilst the bewildered hosts sat on the sofa. 

Rachel addressed the situation as she explained: ‘So we’ve been disturbed by an alarm, it may mean that we have to slow things down for a moment.’  

The duo couldn’t apologise enough as they sat on the sofa with Harpreet and an array of their guests baked goods.

Rachel continued: ‘For the time being we will have to leave the studio, hopefully we get to come back before the end of the show to talk about cakes.’ 

Roger appeared to be confused by the message as he addressed the audience and added: ‘Thank you, enjoy whatever you’re doing for the rest of the day.’

‘I think we are going to have to go, Harpreet I’m so sorry that’s terrible when you’ve brought your cakes in.’

‘Harpreet I’m so sorry, we think we’ve gone off air, we don’t know…thank you for watching… this is where we say goodbye.’
