Be wise! Arresting Sunday Igboho will make matters worse! Ayo Fayose tells Federal Government 2

Former Ekiti State Governor, Ayo Fayose has warned the Federal Government that any attempt to arrest Sunday Adeyemo, otherwise known as Sunday Igboho will only escalate tensions in the state.

Sunday Igboho made the headlines a few days ago after he gave the Fulani community in Igangan, Ibarapa North Lical Government of Oyo State to vacate the state over killings of some citizens of the state.

News of the arrest order of Sunday Igboho by the Inspector Generalof Police, Mohammed Adamu broke on Friday. BBC Hausa quoted Presidential Aide, Garba Shehu who conformed that arrest order on Friday.

However, former Ekiti State Governor, Ayo Fayose has called on the Federal Government as well as Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde to embrace dialogue instead of arresting Sunday Igboho, an action he  believes will worsen the situation.

Ayo Fayose shared his thoughts on his verified Twitter page.

If FG and some governors could ‘dialogue’ with Boko Haram terrorists, Gov Makinde calling all stakeholders to a round-table discussion will not be a misplaced action.

Gov Seyi Makinde should rather use dialogue and persuasion instead of escalating tension in his own State by calling for the arrest of Sunday Adeyemo or anyone at this time.

Everything that matters has been destroyed under the watch of Buhari. All the values that we share as a country – economy, security,  human rights, rule of law,  credible elections and unity of the country have been destroyed.
