Gottfried’s death is the latest premature passing to hit the comedy community within the last seven months, following the passing of Norm Macdonald at 61 in September of 2021; Bob Saget at 65 in January, and Louie Anderson at 68 later that month.

The image that Rizzo shared was originally posted by Gottfried following Macdonald’s death due to cancer.

‘This photo was taken after I was a guest on Norm’s show. At dinner the laughs just continued nonstop. He will be missed. RIP Norm Macdonald,’ Gottfried said.
