Nigeria’s Chief of Army Staff, Major-General Ibrahim Attahiru has given troops in the theatre of operation in the Northeast a 48-hour ultimatum to get rid of Boko Haram terrorists off Marte and some neighbouring areas in Borno State.
The Army Chief, while on an operational visit to the troops of Army Super Camp 9 in Dikwa Local Government Area of Borno State, charged the soldiers to up the ante in the fight against the Boko Haram terrorists who have been reported to be regrouping in the area.
Areas like Kirenowa, Kirta, Wulgo, Chikingudo in Marte and Ngala local government areas have been reported to have some presence of the terrorists recently.
Major-General Ibrahim Attahiru assured the troops that they will receive all the necessary support in their clearance operation having met with their theatre commander as well as the General Officer Commanding 7 Dividion.

The Army Chief assured local residents who have left Dikwa as a result of the recent onslaught in the area that normalcy will soon return to their community.
IÂ want to assure you that we are going to protect you.
Not only that, we are going to clear Marte, Kirenuwa, Wulgo, Kirta and their environs. What we need from you is your cooperation and prayers.
