The Metropolitan Police in the United Kingdom have arrested former deputy Senate President of Nigeria, Ike Ekweremadu and his wife, Nwanneka over child trafficking and organ harvesting.
The Nigerian Senator, 60 and his wife, 55 were arrested on Thurday following an investigation by the Metropoliatan Police Specialist Cream crew, according to Sky News UK.
The child in question has been safeguarded according to reports.
According to the police, the inquiry started when investigators received a tip about possible violations of the modern slavery statute in May 2022.
Ike Ekweremadu and his wife will appear at the Uxbridge Magistrate Court later today for hearing.
