Kelechi Iheanacho will no longer be a Leicester City player after the club announced his departure on Friday.

Leicester City posted the seven years exploits of the Super Eagles midfielder in a 1:30 secs video on its official X page.

Kelechi joined the former Premier League champions from Manchester City for £25m on a five-year contract in 2017 after a two years at the club.

He had a very successful time with Leicester City and was instrumental in their FA Cup, Community Shield and the recent English Championship triumph.

The 27-year-old made his debut for Leicester City on 11 August 2017 in a 4-3 loss to Arsenal away from home.

The Nigerian forward scored his first goal for the club on 24 October against Leeds United in an EFL Cup tie.

Iheanacho became the first player in the history of English football to be awarded a goal after a video assistant referee review on January 2018.

His second goal against Fleetwood Town in a FA third round replay was initially ruled offside by the referee.

On 14 March 2021, Iheanacho scored his first Premier League hattrick as Leicester City thrashed Sheffield United 5-0.

Iheanacho scored the only goal that won Leicester City the 2021 FA Community Shield over Manchester City.

He leaves Leicester City with one FA Cup, a Community Shield and one EFL Championship title which saw them return to the Premier League ahead of the new season.

Iheanacho scored 64 goals, provided 33 assists in 232 appearances for the club.
