Chadian President, Idriss Derby has been confirmed dead after he sustained gunshot injuries in the fight against rebels across the county’s border, a spokesman confirmed.
Idriss Deby was present at the front line over the weekend as he paid a visit to troops battling rebels based across the border in Libya.
Idriss Deby has been President for there decades and he provisional election result on Monday shows that he’s likely to emerge winner having ammased 80% of the votes.
The government and the parliament of Chad has been dissolved. A military council will rule the country for the next 18 months.
