Brigadier-General AI Taiwo says Governor Sanwo-Olu invited the Army to #EndSARS protest at Lekki Tollgate (video)
There is an update as to the inquiry about the shootings that happened at the Lekki Tollgate.
The judicial panel set up by the Lagos State Government to investigate what happened at the protests to end the operations of the Special Anti Robbery Squad (SARS) of the Nigerian Police Force.
The panel resumed after days of a boycott by the youth leaders whose account were frozen in connection to the protests.
Testifying for the Nigerian army was Brigadier-General Al Taiwowho was one of the army officials that spoke on the events.
According to the Brigadier-General, it was Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu who invited the Army to intervene in the #EndSARS crisis.
The Brigadier-General also stated that soldiers were pelted with stones and bottles at Lekki toll gate.
Governor Sanwo-Olu earlier denied deploying the Nigerian army to intervene in the situation.
