COVID-19: Nigerian Army loses Major-General John Olu Irefin!

The Nigerian Army has lost one of its principal officers, Major-General John Olu Irefin as a result of COVID-19 complications.

Until his death, Major General John Olu Irefin was the General Officer Commanding 6 Division, Nigerian Army, Port Harcourt. He died while attending Chief of Army Staff (COAS), Tukur Burutai’s Annual Training conference in Abuja according to a statement by Brigadier-General Musa Sagir, Army Spokesperson.

The conference has since been cancelled off by the army and participants constituting principal staff officers, GOCs, Commandants of Army Schools, Commanders of Army Operations have been asked to go into 14 days isolation.
