Love Island’s Dr Alex George has been praised by fans after revealing he’s bought four holiday cottages in Pembrokeshire and plans to house a Ukrainian family in one. 

The 31-year-old took to social media on Sunday to explain he plans on renovating the homes but wants to help out a family in need. 

The star shared the exciting news with his 2million Instagram followers as he beamed in front of one of the doors.

He penned: ‘Today’s the day! I’m so excited to announce that I’ve bought 4 holiday cottages in beautiful Pembrokeshire, in Wales.

‘I initially bought these for my passion for property and renovation, as well as wanting to create relaxing spaces for families to holiday and enjoy the Welsh countryside in!’

He continued: ‘With all of the current devastation in Ukraine, I have decided I would love one of the cottages to be home to a Ukrainian family for as long as they need.

‘My plan is to start the renovations and get the properties into a good state to house a family as soon as possible.’ 

Dr Alex took fans around the properties in his latest YouTube video detailing everything he is going to change.  

The influencer explained how the ‘cottages are not in a fit state at the minute’ and hopes to renovate them as quickly as possible to help the refugees. 

The reality star said: ‘We have all been moved by the things we have seen in Ukraine and I have felt quite powerless in the last few weeks and months.

‘What I would like to do is put a Ukrainian refugee family in to stay there as long as they need to.

‘I’m going to renovate these cottages as quickly as possible to a high standard and when one is done we can put a family in.

‘The buildings are incredibly old and use to be farm buildings but have so much character and are nice and quirky.’

Dr Alex has created a new Instagram account @dralexrenovates for fans to follow along the journey which has already raked up 74.7 thousand followers in less than 24 hours. 

Fans couldn’t contain their excitement for the heartfelt announcement. 

They wrote: ‘You are amazing.’

‘What an incredible thing to do!!’ 

Dr Alex’s kind gesture comes after reports showed mass graves filled with the bodies of dozens of civilians have been uncovered in cities near Kyiv on Monday. 

From satellite images taken a week ago a slit trench dug into the grounds of a church is visible. 

Officials now say the bodies of at least 410 civilians have been found in total, with many strewn through the streets.
