Godwin Obaseki joined the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) from the All Progressive Congress (APC) as a result of his disqualification from the party’s primaries as well as political disagreement between him and the former party chairman, Adams Oshiomole.

Following the Court of Appeal’s sack of Adam’s Oshiomole as the National Chairman of the Party on the 16th of June, Obaseki said he left the party because Adams Oshiomole was
“scared of educated people because he did not go to school and hate those who have something to offer citizens.”
