Emmerdale’s Meena Jutla was finally found guilty of her crimes in Thursday’s show, but things took a shocking turn as she was stabbed with a shard of glass.

In gripping scenes, the killer villainess refused to accept she’d be heading to prison for multiple murders, but received a shock of her own when she was stabbed by the sister of one of her victims.

While it was hoped that this would finally be the end of Meena’s reign of terror, it appeared her final performance wasn’t over yet, as she suddenly sprung up and held her sister Manpreet hostage with a shard of glass.

After a tense trial that has kept viewers on the edge of their seats, Meena finally discovered she was found guilty on all counts, meaning she’d be spending the rest of her life behind bars.

While the verdict sparked jubilation from the gallery, Meena’s meek persona disappeared in an instance as she turned nasty and lashed out at the decision.

In an explosive twist, it was then revealed that Carol (Laura Pitt-Pulford), the sister of one of Meena’s victims had saved a shard of broken glass and she quickly rushed up and stabbed Meena.

‘It’s just so dramatic and there’s one thing that’s going to come out tonight where I actually dropped my script and gasped, “I can’t believe it”.

‘This is a big, big secret that I think the audience will love and be really exciting and just adds another dimension to Meena, Meena’s relationship with her sister and the whole storyline.’

Meena first hit the Dales in September 2020 and the serial killer was quickly thrusted at the forefront of many gripping storylines, which saw Paige scoop the award for Best Villain at the 2021 Inside Soap Awards.

Ahead of her final scenes and potential comeuppance, Paige said: ‘It’s just been a delight. I feel like Emmerdale just went into my brain and saw my dream character, plucked her out and put her on a page. She’s just an absolute dream of a character.

‘She gets to go crazy, wild and then you see moments like last night when she was on the stand, and she’s an incredible actress. It’s just been a dream.’
