With the #EndSARS protest now in full swing across the nation, Nigerians who have had one or more experiences with the operatives of the Special Anti-Robbery Squad have been sharing their stories.
A woman in Ibadan who took part in the #EndSARS protest in the city shared her experience via video recording posted on Twitter recently.
She alleged that her elder brother, Abass Adebayo was killed by men of the dreaded police unit because he was framed to be a thief but she claimed he isn’t.
She added that after he was killed, the SARS operatives refused to release his body for burial until she contacted, Adetoye Omotosho, a radio journalist at Petals FM Ibadan who helped her in retrieving his body.
She further alleged that the SARS operative extorted money from her and also made an attempt to rape her.
The woman, who spoke in Yoruba language, said that her mother died on the 12th of February probably this year as a result of his death.
