FG says Nigerian students will not write WAEC in 2020 (video)
The Federal Government (FG) of Nigeria has stated that students in the final year of senior secondary school across the country will not participate in the upcoming West African Examination Council (WAEC) examinations.
This declaration was made by Mallam Adamu Adamu the Federal Minister of Education on Wednesday, July 8 after the virtual Federal Executive Council (FEC) meeting
Adamu stated that given the state of the deadly Coronavirus which resulted in the closing of schools nationwide it is unknown when the students will be allowed to resume.
The numbers of the deadly Coronavirus keep growing in the country and therefore participating in the upcoming WAEC is not wise.
The Minister stated it would be better for the Nigerian final year students to lose an academic year that is why there is not for school resumption.
