Kano State Governor Abdullahi Ganduje, on the recommendation of the Kano Emirate council has appointed Alhaji Aminu Ado Bayero as the new Emir of the state.

The announcement was confirmed by the Secretary to the Government few hours after Mohammed Sanusi II was dethroned and banished to Nasarawa State.

According to the Secretary: “Section 11 (1) of the Law has empowered the governor to appoint Alhaji Aminu Ado Bayero as the emir of Kano,”

  1. Following the death of late Emir Ado Bayero, the quest for the position of Emir of Kano was between Mallam Sanusi Lamido Sanusi and Ado Bayero’s son, Alhaji Aminu Ado Bayero.
    PDP supported Alh. Aminu Ado Bayero, APC Gov, Kwankwaso supported SLS. Today, the story has changed.
