Frank Lampard’s men began the new year the same way they ended the previous one as they fell to a 3-1 embarrassing defeat to Manchester City at Stamford Bridge – A result that presumably shortens the days of the manager at the club.
The former Premier League champions took control of the game in the first half as decimated Chelsea’s defense as they ended the first 45 minute with there goals.
Ilkay Gundogan, Phil Foden and Kevin De Bruyne were all on target as Pep Guardiola’s men outplayed the Blues on their ground.
It was a one-sided affair as Manchester City controlled a larger chunk of the encounter even tho Frank Lampard most of his most-potent Arsenals: Hakim Ziyech, Timo Werner, Mason Mount, Mason Mount among others.
Substitute, Calum Hudson-Odoi got a 90th minute consolation for the blues as pressure continues to mount on Frank Lampard.
The Blues have only won just one match in six games with four losses and one draw which came against Aston Villa. They currently sit on 8th position with 26 points after 17 games.

Seeing Gundogan for around 3-4 years and this is the first time I felt he ain't that bad. Good performance today. Hudson Odoi is always producing an attacking return playing on the right. Wished we got him for our void in the right.#CHEMCI

I can't withhold my disappointment over this Chelsea team today. No aggression, countless mistakes from all angles and poor passes. I'm completely broken. May be I have to take a break from watching until Lampard do needful. #CHEMCI
