Emmanuel Idowu, the judge of the Iyaganku Chief Magistrates’ Court in Ibadan, issued an order on Monday remanding 50-year-old Fatai Gbeminiyi to the Abolongo Correctional facility in Oyo Town for an alleged murder.

Despite being charged with murder, Mr. Gbeminiyi of Ibadan’s Abebi Area refused to enter a plea before Chief Magistrate Idowu because the court lacked jurisdiction.

He adjourned the case until October 27 for mention and directed that Mr. Gbeminiyi remain in custody pending advice from the Oyo State Directorate of Public Prosecution (DPP).

Tinuke Olayiwola, 39, passed away on August 20 as a result of Mr. Gbeminiyi’s unlawful actions, according to the prosecution’s attorney, Iyabo Oladoyin.
