An American influencer has been roasted by Aussies for her ‘genius’ kiwi-eating hack that is actually common knowledge.

Fashion blogger Nena Evans announced she had discovered a ‘random’ way of eating a kiwi that was a lot more convenient than peeling it.

She shared a tutorial video on Instagram in which she sliced a kiwi in half and scooped out the flesh with a spoon – unaware this is how most people have been eating kiwis for years.

Her clip was reposted by snark account Celeb Spellcheck on Thursday, which resulted in Ms Evans being mocked for her ‘groundbreaking’ technique.

‘So random but I swear it makes me want to eat more of this fruit,’ Ms Evans, who has 466,000 followers on Instagram, said in the video.

Speaking from her kitchen at home, she then gave detailed instructions on how best to enjoy the juicy fruit.

‘So I just cut a kiwi in half and then I take a spoon and like kind of scoop it out to eat it and that way… Wow, look how juicy this thing is,’ she said.

Ms Evans explained that by using a spoon she didn’t have to peel the fruit, and this made her want to ‘eat these more often’.

She concluded by describing the method as ‘random’ but ‘genius’.

Followers of Celeb Spellcheck were quick to roast Ms Evans in the comments section, with one sarcastically writing: ‘Revolutionary hack.’

The hugely popular account was created several years ago with the intention of mocking celebrities for their typos in sponsored Instagram posts.

However, the page has since transformed into a platform for holding influencers to account for other gaffes and shady behaviour.
