But Jamie Dornan risked scaring off his future wife, Amelia Warner, by wearing a Christmas jumper on their first date.
The actor, 40, donned the chunky knitwear even though it was in sunny Los Angeles in February.

‘I was worried that she wouldn’t remember me,’ the actor explains.Â
‘I felt I should make myself memorable.
‘And I still remember seeing her reaction when she opened the door. I could tell she got the point of me and liked me, even though she probably thought I was a bit weird.’

It comes after last month Jamie took to Instagram to share a rare family photo to celebrate International Women’s Day.
The star posted a snap of his loved ones – wife Amelia, 39, and their three daughters Dulcie, eight, Elva, six, and Alberta, three – as they crossed the road.
He captioned his post: ‘I’m nothing but a pile of dust without this crew. #internatinalwomensday.’

In the picture, Jamie’s daughters can be seen walking hand-in-hand with their mother as they cross the road in sunny California.
The clan are seen in casual attire as Amelia leads the way in the private moment. Â
Belfast star Jamie and Amelia tied the knot back in 2009Â and they keep their family life mostly quiet.
During a recent episode of The Ellen DeGeneres Show, Jamie joked he’s been in a ‘perpetual state of drag’ all of his life thanks to growing up with two sisters and only having daughters.Â

The star appeared to be a bit stunned and taken aback by all the applause he received when he made his entrance in front of the live studio audience.Â
The host assured him that all the adoration was due to his performance in Belfast, which got rave reviews and Oscar buzz.
The film, which also stars Outlander actress CaitrÃona Balfe, Judi Dench, Ciarán Hinds, Colin Morgan and Jude Hill, among others, is a semi-biographical story of writer and director Kenneth Branagh’s upbringing amid The Troubles in Belfast in the 1960s. Â
‘It’s so well done,’ Ellen several times over, in reference to the black-and-white film that has already won a People’s Choice Award at the 2021 Toronto International Film Festival; and received seven Golden Globe nominations, winning for Best Screenplay, among other accolades.Â
‘The movie is getting Oscar buzz; you’re getting Oscar buzz, so it’s really great. It’s really beautifully done,’ DeGeneres says in support of the film, which got a nod of appreciation from Jamie.  Â
He went on to share that he ‘takes some sort of comfort’ that his father knew he was making Belfast before his death from COVID-19.
‘I think in some way he’s having some control of the love we’re getting for it,’ the former Fifty Shades of Grey star said, adding, that his dad ‘was so happy that I was working with Judi Dench, the legend, Dame Judi Dench, who plays my mother in this’.
