In February, it was revealed that she was working on a Netflix documentary.

And two months later, Jennifer Lopez announced that the project was selected to open the 2022 edition of the Tribeca Festival this summer.

The star, 52, shared the poster and wrote: ‘It’s just the beginning. Halftime, a @Netflix Documentary about Jennifer Lopez, releasing June 14,’ with the Tribeca logo on it as well.

The festival is set to kick off on Wednesday, June 8 in New York City, per Variety, at the United Palace in Washington Heights in upper Manhattan.

The location of the theater is just a few subway stops away from the Bronx, where Jennifer grew up.

Halftime will premiere on Netflix six days later on June 14.

The project follows Jennifer for the year she turned 50, as well as follow her on her career path during the second half of her career.

It will also shine a light on big moments that occurred recently in her career, including her Super Bowl show with Shakira in 2020 as well as her performance at the inauguration of President Biden in 2021.

The project also features Jennifer reflecting on her milestones and the determination and drive Jennifer has to get her to the icon status she is at. 

Amanda Micheli, the director of the documentary, told the outlet upon hearing news it was selected as the festival night opener: ‘It’s an honor to be selected for opening night of Tribeca, and so fitting to be celebrating this critical milestone in Jennifer’s life and career just miles from where she grew up!’

Adding: ‘To have the opportunity to share this film on the big screen with a New York audience is a dream come true.’

The festival released a statement after the news was announced, with Jane Rosenthal, the Tribeca Festival co-founder and Tribeca enterprises CEO, said: ‘The Tribeca Festival has always been an activist festival – a celebration of entertainment and innovation in the midst of remarkable challenges.’

The news comes just days after Jennifer announced her engagement to Ben Affleck, 49.

In April 2021, Jennifer confirmed the end of her relationship with Alex Rodriguez, after the pair dated for four years and were engaged for two years.  

Jennifer and Ben were previously engaged 18 years ago in 2004.

In mid-May, Jennifer spent some time in Los Angeles with Ben, igniting rumors they had in fact reunited.

The couple went Instagram official with their relationship in July while on a European holiday in honor of her 52nd birthday.

The power couple have continued going from strength to strength in their relationship since then, attending red carpet events and spending time together around the world.

Jennifer announced her engagement for the second time to Ben on Friday, April 8 via her website.

She shared a 13 second video of herself crying and looking at her engagement ring – with no sign of fiance Ben.

Ben and Jen first started dating in early 2002 after meeting on set of Gigli.  

They were set to get married in September 2003, but postponed their wedding and eventually broke up in January 2004.

Ben has three children with ex-wife Jennifer Garner: daughters Violet, 16, Seraphina, 13, and son Samuel, 10.

Jennifer has two children with ex-husband Marc Anthony: twins Max and Emme, 13.
