A group of barbaric youths with the consent of their leaders took the law into their hands as they committed an act of jungle justice by burning a man to death for allegedly insulting Prophet Muhammad.
The man identified as Mai Ruwa was dragged from his residence and reduced to ashes in Sade Community, Darazo Local Government Area of Bauchi State on Tuesday.
Sahara Reporters gathered that irate youths in the Bauchi community, before committing the Jungle Justice act, reported Mai Ruwa to the community leaders who then gave their consent afterwards.
“The young man was killed by a mob in Sade town for allegedly insulting Prophet Muhammad. He was dragged from his house by a mob and forcibly set ablaze after being tied to an old car tyre.”
“The village youths donated money to buy the petrol that was used to burn and kill Talle Mai Ruwa,” a resident told Sahara Reporters.
Some residents confirmed that the Mai Ruwa had been going through a mental illness before the incident occurred.
