The Police Chief, yesterday placed a ban on SARS and other tactical units “from carrying out routine patrols and other conventional low-risk duties – stop and search duties, checkpoints, mounting of roadblocks, traffic checks, etc – with immediate effect”
The Inspector-General of Police also. banned the operatives from operating without uniforms and checking the personal devices of people .
This comes after a public outcry by the citizens on social media yesterday against the unprovoked activities of SARS which unfortunately have led to the loss of lives in recent times.
