The Queensland waitress who argued with Katy Perry over a café table has revealed details of her embarrassing encounter with the pop superstar.
Indianna Paull went viral on TikTok earlier this week after revealing she had served the American singer, 37, while working at a café in Port Douglas on Saturday.
Indianna, who did not recognise Katy beneath her hat and sunglasses, told the Roar hitmaker she would have to wait until a table became available.
Discussing the encounter on Sunrise on Thursday, Indianna clarified that Katy wasn’t acting like a diva and actually had a good reason for wanting the first available table.
‘Looking back on it, the reason she wanted to get inside [the café] was because people were taking photos of her,’ she told co-hosts Natalie Barr and David Koch.
‘I was so oblivious, running around like a headless chook, I had no idea!’ she laughed.

Indianna praised Katy for acting ‘normal’ and taking the rejection ‘like a champ’ instead of throwing a tantrum.
‘I think partly why I didn’t recognise her was that she was just so relaxed and chill about it,’ she explained.
‘She didn’t have that appearance about her to make her seem like she was worried for waiting for a table… She handled it like a champ.’

After their initial showdown, Indianna finally agreed to seat Katy at a table that wasn’t for customers, before scolding the star for breaking the rules.
‘I was walking over and made a fool of myself and said, ‘Just for future, know that we can’t seat people in this table’,’ she recalled.
Indianna said she was mortified after learning that the customer she’d just chastised was Katy Perry.

‘I felt like a fool and went over to apologise. I was a bit shocked that I acted like a casual Joe Blow… and I can believe how nice she was,’ she continued, before confirming that Katy left a ‘generous’ tip.
When quizzed on the exact amount of money Katy tipped her, Indianna remained coy.
‘More than the usual $2 we get thrown in the bucket!’ she laughed.
