Kimberly Wyatt says The Pussycat Dolls tour WILL go ahead 2

Kimberly Wyatt has said that The Pussycat Dolls long-awaited reunion will go ahead next September despite months of delays.

The group’s tour was previously thrown into jeopardy by the pandemic and reports that Nicole Scherzinger was being sued by the band’s founder for ‘refusing to participate’.

Speaking to The Sun, Kimberly, 39, said: ‘Nobody has told me that it has been cancelled so I’m holding onto the hope that it’s September 2022 until I’m told otherwise.’

She continued: ‘I’m desperate to get out there. I had finally felt like I was in the groove, I was ready for it – let’s go!

‘The fans deserve it. They have supported us for so long. We need to get out there and do what we do.’

The reunion tour – featuring Kimberly, Jessica Sutta, Nicole Scherzinger, Ashley Roberts and Carmit Bachar – was initially postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic after it was announced back in November 2019.

And the future of the tour was placed in doubt again earlier this year when Pussycat Dolls founder Robin Antin filed a lawsuit claiming Nicole was refusing to participate unless she received complete creative control in relaunching the group, as well as a bigger percentage of profits.

However, Nicole’s lawyer Howard King described the claims as ‘ludicrous and false’ and alleged the lawsuit was ‘a desperate attempt to divert blame for her own failures by trying to impose obligations on Nicole that simply do not exist’.

The attorney added: ‘Robin will fail in her efforts to trade on Nicole’s hard-earned success to pull herself out of a deep financial hole she has created by her own poor business and professional decisions.

‘Prior to Nicole’s involvement, trading on Nicole’s name without her consent, Robin borrowed (and spent) $600,000 from Live Nation that she won’t or can’t repay.

‘Nicole has invested her own funds in excess of $150,000 in support of a potential PCD reunion that has now been made impossible by Robin’s actions (including the public release of the group members’ confidential financial information).

‘Nicole loves and respects the PCD fans and hopes to one day be back on stage performing the group’s amazing hits for them. Sadly, this will not happen under these circumstances.’

Robin claims that Nicole is refusing to join the reunion unless she’s given a majority stake in the affair, despite previously agreeing to a smaller share.

Robin, who’s best known as a choreographer, founded The Pussycat Dolls in 1995 as a burlesque troupe.

Following a suggestion from legendary record executive Jimmy Lovine, Robin took the group mainstream, installing Nicole as its lead singer in 2003.

Through her attorney Richard Busch, Robin alleges that she and Nicole settled on a deal for a Pussycat Dolls reunion back in 2019, though the ongoing coronavirus pandemic delayed its launch.

The original agreement: Robin, the choreographer who founded the group, claims Nicole originally agreed to a reunion in 2019 with a 49 percent stake; seen in 2019 in Studio City

In her filing, the founder claims that the two came to an agreement for the tour and new Pussycat Dolls ventures in which Scherzinger would get a 49 percent stake.

Robin says this was decided via a short-term agreement that she’s calling a Memorandum of Understanding.

According to the lawsuit, Nicole initially promoted the tour prior to its pandemic delay.

The bill: The filing adds that the group is already on the hook for $600,000 that has to be paid back to Live Nation after the promoter already invested in the tour; Scherzinger and the group seen in February 2020

However, Robin claims she ‘now refuses to participate in the tour’ and has ‘demanded to renegotiate the terms of the MOU.’

Scherzinger allegedly is requesting a 75 percent stake in the tour and future ventures, a significant boost from the original amount.

That would also give her control of all decisions related to the group. Without that, Antin says that Scherzinger will walk away from the tour.

The big time: Scherzinger rose to fame with The Pussycat Dolls in the 2000s. The group released two hit albums before disbanding in 2010; seen in February 2020 in London
