The insider noted further: ‘They’ve worked really hard to get to a good place and manage the kids and the holidays and are doing their best to keep it positive and friendly. Things have gotten better recently.’

In late January of this year Kristin and Jay cryptically shared the same joint selfie with the same caption: ‘The world is full of users. 10 years. Can’t break that.’

Rumors quickly reached a fever pitch that they were getting back together but shortly thereafter a People source confirmed they were not.

They announced that they were getting divorced in April of 2020, since which time Kristin has dated and broken up with comedian Jeff Dye.

Although Kristin and Jay initially squabbled over money and the children they have since managed to settle on split custody.

In September 2020 Kristin told Entertainment Tonight that she ended her reality show Very Cavallari in order to keep the divorce off of TV.

‘I didn’t want to talk about my divorce on camera and have to expose that. I really think that some things should be kept private,’ she explained.

Over the summer of this year she told Mr. Warburton that co-parenting with Jay ‘has its challenges for sure, especially in the beginning when everything is so fresh still. But we’re just navigating it the best way we know how.’

In the same interview she revealed what her own parents’ divorce taught her about how to cope with her present circumstances.

‘Never put the kids in the middle of it. No matter how mad you are at your ex-spouse,’ was one tip that Kristin absorbed.

‘One thing that my mom did was she NEVER said anything bad about my dad. Now that I’m older, I really respect that,’ she dished.

‘I always want my kids to see Jay and me as a united front. He’s their father. That’s important and they need to see that from me.’
