Liam Payne and his on-off fiancée Maya Henry have split for good, MailOnline can exclusively reveal.

The former One Direction bandmember, 28, and the model, 21, decided to go their separate ways last month after previously calling off their engagement in June 2021 – only to rekindle their romance two months later.

Confirmation of their breakup comes just hours after photos of the singer with his arms wrapped around another mystery brunette emerged on a fan Instagram account on Monday, as well as of the pair holding hands.

Despite their end of their relationship, Maya referred to Liam as her ‘fiancé’ in the post’s comments section, which those close to the former X Factor finalist have slammed as ‘very misleading’.

A source told MailOnline: ‘Liam and Maya are no longer together and split up for good over a month ago.

‘Maya’s comments referring to Liam as her fiancé are untrue and very misleading.’

The couple reportedly rekindled their relationship in July, a month after calling off their engagement.

Liam popped the question in August 2020 after a year of dating the brunette bombshell.

Maya and Liam have known of each other for years, and were first pictured together at a meet-and-greet event when One Direction fan Maya was 15.

Previously, Liam dated Cheryl Cole, 38, but split in 2018 after a two and a half year romance.

The pair have remained amicable while co-parenting their four-year-old son Bear and largely keep the youngsters life private.

Last month Liam revealed that his ‘devious’ son has figured out how to ‘get the day off school’ in a question and answer session to Instagram.

The former One Direction star explained that his cheeky child was ‘quite smart’ with his ‘sneaky’ move.

Speaking live to his Instagram story, Liam gave a rare insight into his family life with his little one and said that he was ‘proud.’

The singer explained: ‘He went to school the other day and he didn’t want to go, and I think he learned that if you have Covid you don’t have to go to school, which is quite sneaky but also quite smart.

‘He figured out if he pretended to say ‘I’ve got the virus’ then he would get the day off school.’
