Logie Awards 2022: Today reporter Brooke Boney 'should be in hospital' after wild night 2

Today reporter Brooke Boney ‘should be in hospital’ after WILD Logies night – as Karl Stefanovic calls her an ‘absolute trooper’ for showing up to work at 5:30am

Today co-host Karl Stefanovic called his colleague Brooke Boney an ‘absolute trooper’ for coming into work after Sunday night’s Logie Awards.

The breakfast show’s entertainment reporter appeared hungover and hid her eyes behind sunglasses after what was apparently a big night of celebrating.

Allison Langdon said Brooke, 34, had ‘stayed up latest out of everybody’ and that she was ‘still going hard on the dance floor’ when the other Nine presenters went back to their hotel rooms.

As the show broadcast live from a busy beach on the Gold Coast, Stefanovic said of Boney: ‘Most other people would be in hospital this morning.’

During an interview with Jessica Mauboy, Boney seemed to not even hear The Voice star’s thoughtful answer to her question, instead replying: ‘Yeah well, Jess, I think it’s time for us to have a coffee, maybe even a mocktail or something.’

‘And when the sun comes up over these buildings, maybe we can just lie on these lounge chairs. We deserve that.’

After throwing back to the co-anchors, Stefanovic declared, ‘She’s an absolute trooper that Brooke Boney.’

Towards the end of the program, Langdon and Boney stood together on the sand, with the latter still wearing her dark shades.

‘Brookey still hasn’t taken her sunglasses off,’ Langdon pointed out, with Boney simply replying: ‘No comment.’

‘Straight from the dancefloor to the show this morning,’ Langdon laughed, before calling it a ‘solid effort’.

In response, Boney could only muster a ‘Huh?’ causing Langdon to laugh.

Boney was just one of many nursing a sore head on the Gold Coast on Monday.

As the curtain closed on the 2022 TV Week Logie Awards, some of Australia’s biggest names emerged from The Star casino in the early hours of the morning looking a little worse for wear.

The tipsy stars had plenty to celebrate, of course, as television’s night of nights finally returned to the live stage after a two-year hiatus due to Covid-19.
