Love Island: Gemma Owen heads to the Hideaway with Luca Bish while the couples risk being dumped

Love Island’s Gemma and Luca get close in the hideaway during Thursday night’s episode of the ITV dating show, while Davide and Ekin-Su get intimate on romantic date.

The episode concludes with the Islanders learning that their fate has been in the hands of the public after they were tasked with voting for the most compatible couple.

During the evening, Jay announce he had received a text that read: ‘Islanders, the hideaway is open tonight. Please choose a lucky couple to spend the night alone. #qualitytime #hideabae’

Gemma showed her excitement in the beach hut: ‘Finally! It has been a bit of a long time coming, just us two, I’m just buzzing.’ 

The moment will no doubt cause Gemma’s famous father Michal Owen to avert his gaze after sharing an emoji of a a face covering their eyes with their hands when his daughter took part in the sexy striptease challenge. 

As Luca and Gemma enjoyed pillow talk in the hideaway, he asked: ‘Do you see yourself falling in love with me?.’

The islanders were surprised with a romantic morning brunch at the start of the episode, and the topic of conversation quickly turned to last night’s recoupling speeches.

While siting at the tables outside, Jacques told Paige: ‘Being back in bed last night was good. The speech last night, I believe that was a special moment. It made me feel so full inside.’ 

Paige couldn’t stop smiling and replied: ‘Even though I was so nervous saying it I’m glad I got to say it’

Tensions were high after Wednesday’s dramatic recoupling. Danica asked Jay: ‘How do you feel about last night

After closing the door on her before the recoupling, he replied: ‘I wasn’t expecting it. You are a very nice girl and the words were nice’

Danica stood by her decision: ‘The attraction is more there with you, I’d rather be coupled up with someone who is more my type and intelligent.’

Tasha and Andrew followed suit, as Andrew said: ‘I’ve not felt like this in a very, very long time if not ever.’

Tasha agreed: ‘I’ve not had a guy that looks at me the way you do, you see it in the movies when they give that certain look to each other- I feel like we have that.’

Andrew replied: ‘I just feel like everyday we get strong and we are still here.’ 

Luca remained smitten with Gemma and said: ‘Let’s talk about that speech, it was good and I’m glad we have something really special’

After Ekin-Su asks Luca to play matchmaker with her and Davide, Luca pulls his pal to one side and gives him an update on her feelings.

Luca insists: ‘I think she is genuine this time,’ pointing out: ‘She put her heart out there now in front of everyone. In the firepit to say what she said.’

‘She wants a chance, she wants to try and get back to the way you were. When you are together you are so happy and laughing.’

Urging Davide to pull Ekin-Su for a chat, Davide goes over to speak to her and a smitten Ekin-Su tells him: ‘I took a risk and I chose you. I am ready to make it up to you, I am ready to try

‘It’s cool if we take it slow, it’s cool if we’re friends, it’s cool I’m not going to pressurise you at all. I just want to know that you’ll give me a chance?’ 

Ekin-Su said: ‘I mean I’m not going to say yes or no. If I’m speaking to you this should already let you understand something. It is going to be hard for you Ekin-Su, it’ll take time to fix things.’

Urging Davide to pull Ekin-Su for a chat, Davide goes over to speak to her and a smitten Ekin-Su tells him: ‘I took a risk and I chose you. I am ready to make it up to you, I am ready to try

She continued: ‘It’s cool if we take it slow, it’s cool if we’re friends, it’s cool I’m not going to pressurise you at all. I just want to know that you’ll give me a chance?’

Later in the day, Ekin-Su receives a text telling her: ‘Ekin-Su and Davide, you’re going on a date, please get ready to leave the Villa. #gotacrushonyou #nomoresourgrapes’

In the Beach Hut Ekin-Su admits she feels ’emotional, I feel romantic, I feel like this is the best things that could happen right now.’

Davide meanwhile agrees to wear his heart on his sleeve, telling the boys as he gets ready for the date in a secluded vineyard: ‘I will try and open myself a bit more.’

Luca says: ‘You’ve got to end the date in a kiss you know..’

On the date the couple could be seen in two barrels full of grapes, giggling while making their own wine.

As they sit down for drinks after the activity Ekin-Su asked: ‘Do you think your mum would like me? 

Davide replied: ‘If you love me she would like you. Would your parents like me?’

Ekin-Su responded: ‘Well if you make me happy and you are nice to me and you give me a chance I’m sure they will like you a lot.’

Sweet: Ekin-Su can’t hide her delight at being back with the Italian stallion as they share a dance on the date 

Davide then gets serious and admitted: ‘I came in here looking for someone to spend my life with. What do you want in the future.’

Ekin-Su revealed: ‘I want my own business, own income, own house, have a family, have a peaceful life, maybe have two kids, enjoy the process and only time will see, I’ve learned. Please just trust me.’

Davide then agreed to try, giving Ekin-Su the green light to go in for a kiss as she continued to lay it on thick with him. 

Back on? The pair beamed as they arrived back in the villa hand-in-hand, with the other islanders cheering

Paige read out a text noting: ‘The couple have been voting for the most compatible couple. Those with the fewest votes risk being dumped from the Island tonight.’

The islanders then stand up, with Jay announcing that Dami and Indiyah are the first to be saved, and sit back down.

Jacques and Paige are the second couple to be saved, with Luca and Gemma sitting down shortly after as the third couple safe.
