Max George has revealed that he has been put on an intravenous drip after suffering from dehydration and a perforated eardrum after participating in The Games.

The Wanted singer, 33, took to his Instagram Story on Monday to show himself hooked up to the drip.

Later he addressed his followers from his bed, saying he’d been put on strong painkillers and was due to visit the hospital.

He said: ‘Hey guys. Obviously I pulled up earlier. So the last few days have been a bit of a rough one. 

‘I perforated my eardrum a couple of days ago so it’s been causing me so it’s been causing me quite a lot of dizziness.’

Max added: ‘I’ve been in loads of pain medication so I think I just got dehydrated. But all good. I’ve been rehydrated. 

‘I’m in the hospital tomorrow to have it checked on and just make sure that everything is OK and fingers crossed that I get the nod to be able to do the swimming cause that’s an event that I love.’

‘Yeah it’s been a rough couple of days and there’s a lot of people asking “What happened?” am I alright? I’m all good, just a bit shaky with my ear and yeah like just got a bit dehydrated cause I’m on a sh**load of pain meds, but all love and hopefully see you tomorrow.’

During Monday’s night’s episode of The Games, Max sustained an injury on screen while running in the 400m event when fans noticed he began slowing down and clutched his leg.

Addressing the incident, he explained he got cramp in his ‘a*** cheeks’ and congratulated Wes Nelson for his win on the show.

Max’s injuries come after he shared a touching tribute to his late bandmate Tom Parker on Sunday.

The Wanted singer died on March 30 aged 33 surrounded by his loved ones and bandmates, following a two-year battle with stage 4 glioblastoma.

Taking to his Instagram account, Max shared a throwback snap with his ‘true friend’ Tom, relaxing on a sofa together, with Max doing a thumbs up sign as he cuddled his pal.

In a hugely emotive caption, he wrote: ‘Many people will walk in and out of your life, but only true friends leave footprints in your heart.’
