Meet Monte Morris Nigeria’s new basketball recruit for the Olympics

The Nigeria Basketball Federation (NBBF) has announced that Denver Nuggets youngster Monte Morris from the NBA in the United States of America (USA) will represent the country at the 2021 Olympic Games in Tokyo Japan.

Monte Morris joins Jahil Okafor and Spencer Dinwiddie who have pledged their allegiance to represent Nigeria at the Olympic Games.

A statement on the official NBBF handle said, “@NigeriaBasket got one of the steadiest point guards in the league in the mix!

While the Denver Nuggets handle said, “BREAKING: Nuggets guard Monte Morris will play for Nigeria this summer in the Olympics.

Here are three things to know about new recruit Monte Morris

1 He is averaging 10.4 PPG this season in the NBA and was the 51st overall Pick at the 2017 NBA draft Selected by the Denver Nuggets in round 2.

2 Monté Robert Morris is an American professional basketball player for the Denver Nuggets of the National Basketball Association (NBA).

3 He played college basketball for the Iowa State Cyclones from 2013–2017

4 He was born on the 27th of June 1995 in Grand Rapids, Michigan which makes him 25.

5 He stands at 6 ft 2 in (1.88 m) and his Listed weight is  183 lb (83 kg)
