We are all raised with the statement “make sure you drink enough today!” We all know we have to drink enough water in one day, but how much water is really enough? 8 glasses of water a day would be healthy and the secret to beautiful skin, but is that the case for everyone or does it vary per person how many glasses of water you have to drink per day?
Good for the Body
The benefits of drinking water appear to be enormous. This way you get more beautiful skin from drinking water, your body is cleansed. If you don’t get enough moisture you can dry out with all the associated complaints. You can even become depressed if you drink too little water.
How much moisture do you lose in a day?
On average, you lose half a liter of moisture in a day. You understand that this can be considerably more with a hot day or when you make an effort. In addition, you also lose half a liter of moisture in one day through your breath and your poo. Your body needs to make half a liter of urine a day to get the harmful substances out of your body. So together you need an average of 1.5 liters of water to replenish your moisture reservoir. The question now is how much moisture you get every day outside of drinking water, so you know how much water you need to drink to replenish your fluid reservoir.
How much should you drink in a day?
The food you eat every day contains an average of 0.8 liters of water. In addition, 0.3 liters of moisture are released when this is burned. So in addition to drinking water, you already get around 1.1 liters of fluid every day. So if you need 1.5 liters of fluid per day you have to drink 0.4 liters of water to replenish your fluid reservoir. This calculation is an average. Everyone is not equal. If you supplement 1 to 2 liters of fluid per day, that is more than sufficient. In addition to drinking water, this moisture can also consist of drinking tea, coffee, lemonade, milk, etc. Drinking 8 glasses of water every day is not really necessary to maintain your fluid reservoir.
Is 8 glasses per day really necessary?
“The minimum water requirement is therefore 0.4 liters on average. But nobody is average, for many people that is 0.4 liters too little. I think that you are more than sufficient with 1 to 2 liters of moisture. Please note. You can also get this from coffee, tea, milk and juice. So drinking 8 glasses of water – so 2 liters on top – is really not necessary. ”
