Naomi stunned fans by announcing the birth of her daughter in May, just weeks after appearing on the New York Fashion Week runway without a visible baby bump.

But she says the nine-month old child – whose biological father has never been named – is hers amid growing speculation regarding its biological parentage.

Speaking to the latest edition of British Vogue while posing with her daughter for an exclusive cover shoot, the model confirmed: ‘She wasn’t adopted – she’s my child.’

Naomi played coy during the new interview, and despite confirming her daughter is not adopted, refused to elaborate further on her first born.

However she admitted that very few of her wide circle of friends and family members knew she was planning on becoming a parent.

She explained: ‘I can count on one hand the number of people who knew that I was having her. But she is the biggest blessing I could ever imagine. It’s the best thing I’ve ever done.’

Naomi has travelled extensively over recent months, clocking up air miles with trips to the south of France, Qatar, London, Los Angeles and Paris in little more than eight weeks.

But she insists her daughter doesn’t mind flying, noting: ‘I’m lucky my little one loves to travel like me – no whimpering taking off or landing. She’s a good girl: she sleeps very well, she hardly ever cries and I’m told she’s very alert for her age.

‘She’s just started waving, which is fun. She laughs a lot. She’s almost talking. I think she might walk before she crawls. And she’s got six teeth already.’

She added: ‘I always knew that one day I would be a mother, but it’s the biggest joy I could ever imagine. I’m lucky to have her and I know that.’

The supermodel – who is believed to be single – surprised her Instagram followers in May by sharing a picture of herself cradling her newborn daughter.

Offering a first look at her new arrival with a picture of her baby girl, whose name has not been revealed, she wrote: ‘A beautiful little blessing has chosen me to be her mother.

‘So honoured to have this gentle soul in my life there are no words to describe the lifelong bond that I now share with you my angel. There is no greater love.’

Naomi was last in a relationship with rapper Skepta in 2018 but enjoyed a fling with Liam Payne the following year. She has also enjoyed high-profile relationships with the likes of Diddy, Robert De Niro, Mike Tyson and Russian billionaire Vladislav Doronin over the years.

Although she is notoriously private about her love life, she has previously stated she is ‘on good terms’ with her exes and is not believed to be dating anyone new at present.

HOW DID NAOMI BECOME A MOTHER AT 50 YEARS OLD?

Naomi has not revealed the method in which she welcomed her daughter but has previously spoken about her many options for starting a family

SURROGACY

Some mature mothers choose to have a baby via surrogacy, when someone has a baby for a couple who cannot have a child themselves.

Straight surrogacy uses the surrogates own eggs to conceive and can take place at home using artificial insemination, using an insemination kit or via a clinic using IUI or IVF with the surrogate acting a known egg donor.

Surrogacy is legal in the UK, but it’s illegal to advertise for surrogates. No financial benefit other than reasonable expenses can be paid to the surrogate.

Naomi previously hinted at looking into surrogacy when she said: ‘I think about having children all the time. But now with the way science is I think I can do it when I want.’

 PREGNANCY

More mothers are waiting until later in life to have children, but pregnancy after 50 is still quite rare.

A woman’s fertility begins to decline in her early 30s. After age 35, her number of viable eggs starts to fall more quickly.

However celebrities have made headlines for having kids in their later years, including Janet Jackson who had her son, Eissa Al Mana, at age 50.

Naomi said she wanted to welcome a child with a partner, stating: ‘I do want a father figure. I think it’s important. It’s the way I feel today, sitting here talking to you’

She also hinted at wanting a traditional family set up when she announced: ‘I want the same things as every other woman: the house, the kids, the lot’

In another interview she said: ‘I’d love to have kids. I don’t discount anything in life. I love kids and always will.’

Naomi’s baby announcement came after she admitted that she would ‘think about having children all the time’ but wasn’t planning to rush herself to start a family.

Speaking to ES Magazine back in 2017, she said: ‘I think about having children all the time. But now with the way science is I think I can do it when I want.’

Asked if she would have the child herself rather than adopt, she replied: ‘Maybe. Maybe… Maybe.’

However, the Vogue cover girl insisted that she did not want to be a single parent so would find a suitable partner first.

She said: ‘I do want a father figure. I think it’s important. It’s the way I feel today, sitting here talking to you.’
