Nick Kygrios has withdrawn from the Australian Open men’s warm-up tournament in Melbourne citing asthma.
Kyrgios was due to take on Slovakian Alex Molcan at Melbourne Park on Tuesday night in his return to competitive tennis following knee treatment late last year.

But a lucky loser will now replace the 26-year-old Australian in the main draw.
Kyrgios, who has slumped to world No.93 after a quiet 2021 season that saw him play just 15 matches, was given a wildcard into the ATP 250 tournament.
He has also been handed a wildcard for next week’s Sydney Tennis Classic.

Kyrgios has been rehabbing his knee and training in Canberra in recent weeks.
