Awoniyi with Union Berlin had his seventh loan stint away from Premier League giants Liverpool.
Alongside Petar Musa , Joel Pohjanpalo, Nico Schlotterbeck and Loris Karius who were also on loan at Union Berlin Awoniyi was given a send-off.
For the seventh-placed team in Bundesliga, Awoniyi managed five goals in 21 games in what was a mixed season for the forward.
To mark his stint at the club, Awoniyi was given an award and came on as a substitute in their last German Bundesliga game which was a 2-1 win over RB Leipzig.
To expand his options for his next career move, the striker has just had his work permit granted in the United Kingdom.
