However, the Special Weapons and Tactics (SWAT) unit was created to replace the SARS department.
Muhammad Dingyadi the Minister of Police Affairs, and other officials went inspect the training exercise of the newly created SWAT team in Nassarawa.
The minister said, “I believe at the end of this exercise you are going to come out as very dedicated and very committed mobile police officers who will be equal to the task we have assigned to you.
”Your new responsibility as a replacement to SARS is to face the challenges of armed robbery and other crimes across the country.”
Nigerians however were not impressed with the training technique of the SWAT team describing it as Kung Fu
