Nigerians react as FG set to replace BVN with NIN

Minister of communications and digital economy Isa Pantami has revealed that there are plans to replace the bank verification numbers (BVN) with the national identity numbers (NIN).

The Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) launched the BVN in 2014 to protect customer’s transactions

The NIN is the primary and legal identity of all Nigerians according to the minister who said the BVN is not established by law.

I randomly remember when Bashir said Pantami was intelligent for asking 200m Nigerians to register for NIN in two weeks. The intelligent Pantami is now saying they might replace BVN with NIN, I wonder what it means to be intelligent under Buhari led administration.
