It seems the memo of Isa Pantami reported links with a terrorist network is yet to get to the Presidency or the Department of State Services but Nigerians on popular microblogging app, Twitter are already calling on President Buhari not to sack him.
Isa Pantanmi, Nigeria’s Minister of Communications and Digital Economy was accused of being a strong admirer of renowned terrorist sect, Al Qaeda and its former leader, the late Osama Bin Laden.
Peoples Gazette in two separate publications revealed how Isa Pantami showed his admiration for the late leader and he vehemently preached against the involvement of Muslims in Public Service.
A section of Nigerians have been calling on President Buhari to immediately sack the minister and order a proper investigation on the allegations made against him.
Others believe that the call for the sack of the Minister is only in a bid to tarnish his image. Hence, #PantamiWillStay is now among the trend list on Twitter with over 18,000 tweets at the moment.
However, the “PantamiWillStay” tag has been mixed reactions as expected.

First, they lied that @DrIsaPantami is on the US Terror Watch List! Then retracted & apologised. Now it's manipulating old videos, asking the US to place him on it's terror watch list, in a futile hatchet job, but whoever God has favoured, haters conspire in vain #PantamiWillStay pic.twitter.com/OeEtg386ho

#PantamiResign and #PantamiWillStay is not a religious or ethnic war.
AdvertisementIt's the fact that Nigeria, or any country, should not have anyone who is a terrorist sympathetic as minute as a mustard seed. It is bad for foreign diplomatic relations.
People who don't get this, okay.
