Paris Hilton documents final day on Capitol Hill lobbying lawmakers 2

Paris Hilton is reflecting back on her week of activism in Washington, DC, which is part of her ongoing advocacy work to help stamp out child abuse.

Having claimed to be a victim of physical and emotional abuse at a Utah boarding school as a teenager, Hilton has been pushing for more government oversight of boarding schools, foster care and other organizations for troubled children and teens.

Since arriving in the nation’s capital on Tuesday, she joined forces with fellow survivors, met with lawmakers on Capitol Hill, discussed the issues with policy staff at the White House, and held a press conference where she called for the passage of the Stop Institutional Child Abuse Act, which would increase reporting and oversight of these institutions.

Hilton made the trip to Washington, DC with her husband, venture capitalist Carter Reum.

As part of Hilton’s lobbying efforts to bring awareness over the years, she accused some staff members at the Provo Canyon School in Utah of inflicting emotional, physical and psychological abuse on her during her 11-month stay as a 16-year-old.

During testimony in Utah in 2021, she revealed she was sent to the boarding school in an attempt to tame her rebellious partying as a teenager.
