Three civilians were arraigned before an Ikeja Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday for allegedly impersonating military personnel.

Emmanuel Ifeanyichukwu, 34, Emmanuel Ogar, 31, and Basiru Saleh, 33, are charged with a three-count accusation that includes conspiracy and impersonation.

They, on the other hand, have pled not guilty to the charge.

The defendants dressed the Nigerian Army camouflage outfit and pretended to be military soldiers, according to the police prosecutor, Insp Wasiu Dada.

Dada told the court that the defendants and others still at large committed the crimes on Oct. 22 at around 2 p.m. in Ajah, Lagos.

had military camouflage clothes, boots, and identity cards in their possession, which they could not account for.

According to the prosecutor, the offenses contravene Sections 77, 79(a)(b), and 411 of the Lagos State Criminal Laws of 2015.

Magistrate Emeka Opara set their bail at N50,000 with two sureties in the same amount.

The sureties must be gainfully employed and have proof of two years of tax payments to the Lagos State Government, according to Opara.

The matter was continued until December 8 for further consideration by the Magistrat
