Police in Katsina State has arrested three teenagers for allegedly ganging raping a 13-year-old in Danmusa Local Government Area of the state.
The incident happened on a farmland where the three boys gang-raped the teenage girl and threw her into a nearby pond where she drowned afterwards.
Gambo Isah, the Police Spokesperson in the state confirmed the incident and future stated that the boys were between the ages of 15 and 16.
Isah said;
“On Friday 14th 2020 around 3:45 pm, based on the tip-off, the command succeeded in arresting the trio.
“All from Danmusa town, they allegedly conspired, attacked and gang-raped a 13-year-old girl from Dutsen-Dadi village in Danmusa Local Government Area in their farmland on August 14, 2020.”
“The suspects are Mubarak Lawan 16, Anas Ibrahim, 15 and Aliyu Mika, 15; all from Danmusa local government”
The Police Spokesperson confirmed that the victim’s body was recovered from the pond and was taken to the Local Government hospital where she was confirmed dead.
He also said that the there boys confessed to the crime and investigation is still on-going.
“In the course of investigation suspects confessed to the commission of the crime. The investigation is ongoing”
