Police have launched an investigation after a husband and wife in their 80s were found dead in Norfolk. 

Officers were called to the house in, Cromer, shortly after 7pm yesterday when they discovered the bodies. 

The East of England Ambulance Service called police at 7.18pm to attend the £500,000 detached home in the coastal town which is 23 miles north of Norwich.

Officers discovered a man and woman unresponsive inside the house. 

An investigation has been launched into the cause of the deaths. 

Senior investigating officer DI Chris Burgess of Norfolk Police said: ‘Our investigation is in its early stages, however we believe that those involved are known to one another and we are not currently seeking anyone else in relation to this investigation.

A police cordon is in place at the property and detectives will carry out further enquiries to establish the full circumstances leading up to this incident.’

Officers have informed the next of kin.

The couple are believed to have lived in the area for the past 25 years. 

They are understood to have three adult sons, none of whom live locally.
