Ranvir Singh was pulled off Good Morning Britain on Tuesday after struggling to read the autocue due to a case of hay fever.

The TV presenter, 44, told how she woke up with streaming eyes and a swollen face and had ditched her contact lenses for glasses.

Ranvir chatted with hosts Richard Madeley and Susanna Reid after reading the news, with Richard saying: ‘Hey, credit to you. You’ve got the worst hay fever I think I’ve ever seen.’

Ranvir replied: ‘I don’t know what’s going on. That’s why I look like this today.’

Richard said: ‘I thought you were going to have to stop half way through, are you alright?’

Ranvir added: ‘I’m OK, thanks. Just streaming eyes.’

However, just half an hour later, Ranvir was replaced by reporter Louisa James to read the news.

Susanna asked how Ranvir was doing and Louisa said: ‘She’s OK, well we think she’s going to be OK. We think Ranvir may have had an allergic reaction. She’s got a sore eye. She’s just resting.’

Just before she went off-air, the broadcaster took to Twitter and wrote: ‘Anyone else got the worst most painful stinging hay-fever they’ve ever had? I can barely keep my eyes open. If there was a vaccine for this I’d sign up asap :(.’

It comes after Ranvir hilariously gatecrashed the studio during a coronavirus debate earlier this month.

The TV personality misjudged her cue as she stumbled onto the set but not before a member of the production crew quickly guided her away from cameras.

A surprised Susanna said: ‘Oh, hello, Ranvir,’ with her co-star sheepishly replying: ‘I’m a bit early. I’ll step out gently.’

A crew member reached out to inform her as she walked behind journalist and political commentator Kevin while carrying a wad of newspapers.

She stepped into shot while he was flicking through today’s papers along with Susanna, Martin Lewis, Dr Hilary Jones, and Andrew Pierce.

They were discussing the lack of healthcare funding, which has caused an uptick in Covid-related hospital admissions.

Ranvir soon laughed off the blunder as she returned to read the day’s headlines while looking gorgeous in an unmissable red jumpsuit.
