Nollywood comic actor, James Omiyinka, who is otherwise known as Baba Ijesha appeared at the Magistrate Court in Yaba today for the first time since his arrest in April.
Baba Ijesha was arrested for allegedly violating the 14-year-old foster child of Nollywood actress and comedian, Damilola Adekoya.
Yomi Fabiyi, his colleague who has been defending him since the incident accompanied him to the court as well as some of his family members.
On why he accompanied Baba Ijesha to court, Yomi Fabiyi revealed that appeared in court alongside the accused because he believes in the rule of law.
” I am in court because I believe in the rule of law and I have the right to come to the court and observe the case. The young man is my colleague; I cannot deny him at this stage, I am too refined for that”.

The Lagos State Government via its Ministry of Justice n May filed a five-count charge against Baba Ijesha which may see him get life imprisonment if found guilty.
