Rotimi Amaechi sets date for commencement of Abuja-Kaduna Railway service! (Video/pictures)

Minister of Transportation, Mr. Rotimi Amaechi has announced that the Abuja-Kano Railway service will start operation on the 29th of July. The Minister disclosed this during the test-running of the newly acquired coaches for the rail track.
The Minister said that the public has been pressurising the Government to resume the Abuja-Kaduna Railway services as well as other train services which were put on hold due to the COVID-19 outbreak.
In his words, the minister said;
“We will resume the Abuja-Kaduna train service on Wednesday, July 29.”

He also said the sitting arrangements in the train will be in line with the social distancing directives by the health authorities and as regards the fair, Rotimi Amaechi said the President has ordered that fares should reconsidered in order to make the train service more accessible to all Nigerians.
The Economy class will pay 3000 naira while business class will pay a sum of 6000 naira to access the train service.
