Sam Frost quits Home and Away: Actress films last scenes at Palm Beach

Home and Away star Sam Frost looked cheerful while filming her last scenes on location in Palm Beach, Sydney, on Thursday, as she prepares to leave the Channel Seven soap after four years.

Sam, 32, who has played nurse Jasmine Delaney since 2017, reportedly quit the long-running series this week because she didn’t want to get the Covid-19 vaccine.

While she still has several indoor scenes left to complete at Eveleigh Studios on Friday, it’s likely Thursday’s shoot was her character’s last time visiting Summer Bay.

She smiled with her co-stars while shooting a beach scene, just hours before going for a night out in the city with Nicholas Cartwright, who plays Cash Newman.

Sam showcased her slender figure in a sporty blue crop top and matching bike shorts while filming with Kirsty Marillier, Nicholas Cartwright and Jacqui Purvis.

She appeared particularly close to tattooed Nicholas, who draped an arm around her shoulders as they strolled across the beach.

The former Bachelorette was recently forced to deny rumours she was dating Nic after posting several photos on Instagram that implied they were a couple.

She is believed to have left the show after Seven Productions announced a vaccine mandate for all cast, crew and presenters, which takes effect on January 10.

Sam had revealed she was unvaccinated in a tearful Instagram video uploaded in early October.

She also admitted she was struggling with her mental health due to other people judging her for her vaccination status.

‘I was really hesitant about doing a video or even speaking up about this sort of thing, but I feel like it’s getting to a point now in the world where there’s a lot of segregation,’ she said.

‘There’s a lot of harsh judgement and opinions being thrown around a lot and it’s taking its toll on my mental health for sure, and I know people around me are struggling – particularly if they’re on the side of they don’t want to get vaccinated, for whatever reason.

‘There are lots of different reasons why people are not getting vaccinated and it might be because of their medical history, their concerns, they might have family history, it could be religious reasons.’

Sam then said she hadn’t been vaccinated, but claimed she had spoken to her doctor as well as a psychologist about her decision.

She added tearfully: ‘It’s a really hard time to be in society right now and you feel like you are less of a human and you feel like people judge you.

‘And you’re too scared to talk about your opinion or your feelings and part of you wants to go, “Well, it’s none of your damn business why I’m not! And there’s good reasons why I’m not and I don’t want you to judge me.”

‘I’m struggling a lot with my mental health and I like to think that I’m pretty on to it. I see a psychologist regularly. So I can’t imagine what it’s like for people who don’t have a support network around them.’

Her video caused a great deal of controversy, mainly because of her use of the word ‘segregation’ when referring to the way society ‘judges’ unvaccinated people.

‘Segregation’ is typically used to describe societies that are divided due to race, religion or sexual orientation.

Relocating: The actress will soon move to Melbourne to be closer to her friends and family

In the following weeks, Sam was pictured on the Palm Beach set of Home and Away.

However, Seven announced a vaccine mandate across all shows in late October.

The network said it ‘will only engage fully vaccinated presenters, cast and crew’ from January 10, meaning Sam was essentially told: ‘Get the jab or face the sack.’

She later confirmed on November 2 she would be fully vaccinated by late February – about seven weeks after the vaccine mandate comes into effect.

Her character would be ‘written out temporarily’ in the meantime, she said.

At the time, she claimed she wasn’t able to get the jab sooner because of an unspecified ‘medical procedure booked in for January’.

She also insisted she wasn’t leaving the soap permanently and that she had the full support of Seven executives.

However, in the weeks since that announcement Sam has presumably changed her mind and will leave the show instead of getting vaccinated.
