A school bus overturned and crashed in New York City Thursday morning, leaving 36 adults that had been onboard injured.
The accident transpired at 6:15 am in the Bronx, on the on the Exit 1A ramp of the Hutchinson River Parkway, and saw three of the adults seriously injured and hospitalized.
The bus reportedly tipped over after the driver failed to navigate the turn, swerving and eventually overturning, putting it on its side.
Aerial footage from the scene shows the flipped bus on its side, with adults sprawled on the nearby grass.
The bus had been carrying 37 adults – 36 passengers and the driver – police said. Police said those on board were employees of the same company, but did not specify the origination.
No kids were onboard at the time of the crash.

All 36 passengers were treated for injuries at the scene, police said Thursday, with three needing to be hospitalized. The driver reportedly refused medical attention.

The passengers pictured are the 33 with the more minor injuries, which were checked out by first responders at the scene. They were also taken to area hospitals to be evaluated.
Witnesses reported multiple people being transported by ambulance from the scene.
The crash blocked off the crucial exit for more than an hour on the busy roadway during a busy early morning commute, causing traffic in the area to beheavily impacted.
The northbound exit where the bus crashed led to Bruckner Boulevard in the Throgs Neck section of the borough.

A preliminary investigation found the school bus driver – who has not been named – attempted to exit the highway from the middle lane, causing the flip. A further investigation is still needed.
It was not immediately clear where the bus was headed. The bus’ operator, Consolidated Bus Transit,’ did not immediately respond to DailyMail.com’s request for comment Thursday.
