Nigerians in Canada took to the streets as they held a candle night vigil in honour of the souls that were lost as a result of the #EndSARS protest as well as the Lekki Massacre.

They were also joined by some residents of the neighbourhood as they went on a procession with the Nigerian flag as well as their burning candles.

The 20th day of October 2020 will go down as one of the most horrific days in Nigeria’s democratic history as men of the Nigerian Army opened fire on peaceful #EndSARS protesters at the Lekki Tollgate Plaza.

As a result, no less than 15 people, most youths died at the scene in an onslaught that lasted over an hour according to eyewitnesses reports.

While the Nigerian Army who tagged its involvement in the massacre as “fake news”,  video evidence has surfaced on social media that clearly showed the involvement it’s officers and those that died at the scene of the incident.

Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu after an initial denial, has now confirmed that the military was involved in the Lekki Massacre.

He said this during an interview with CNN on Monday.

From the footage that we can see because there are cameras at that facility, it seems to me that they were men in military uniform, Nigerian Army.

Yes, they (military) were there. That’s what the footage shows.
